It's a question we hear a lot. "Travel writers? What do you do?" Well, we travel, and then we write about it. Usually quite a lot. OK, so we also do photography, provide online content and produce videos, but it's (nearly) all with a travel-related focus. We're well-known as the authors of the UK's best-selling Brit Guide to Orlando and Susan's Hidden Magic of Walt Disney World series, but we also contribute to a wide range of other media, including as the Florida experts for the Telegraph in the UK, Attractions magazine in the US and Visit Florida.
Yes, we live in the 'heart of the magic' in Orlando, and we love being in Florida (which has much more to recommend it than just the obvious theme parks, beaches and oranges, by the way), but we do travel much further afield, from Alaska to Patagonia, and Africa to Eastern Europe (Slovenia being one of our favourite countries in the world). We are specialists for cruising and family holidays, as well as the Sunshine State. We also write biographies and cover sport, but we mainly travel. A lot.
Read on to discover more about what we do, who we do it for, and where we go. It's usually a lot of fun. And, on the odd occasion it isn't, we get an even better story out of it. And then there's our year-long RV trip (2023-24), which truly opened new avenues
for us as we traveled across the US in our 36ft Winnebago Sightseer, taking in 24 states, 14 National Parks and a dizzying array of amazing vistas and experiences. Nothing really prepared us for the immensity of states like Wyoming, Montana and the Dakotas, but we can genuinely say there is no better way to truly see the country than by touring in an RV.
For 12 months it filled our blog site, and it gave us a whole new perspective on the US and its vast and varied regions. With luck, it will also be a book, too, if we can ever get used to living in a house again!
